WEBThey can blend together a lot, but I've always interpreted the difference as being powerviolence has more punk influence and the fast/slow variations, while grindcore is (mostly) fast all the time. But because grindcore can be metal, punk, or a mix of the two, it can blur the line between grind and powerviolence (see: Nails)
